We’re just beginning to catch our breath after a fabulous week of gorgeous fashion during Nashville Fashion Week and the Modern Trousseau runway show April 4th at Belmont Mansion, where we previewed the latest styles from designer, Callie Tein. Nashville’s talented photographers generously shared their photos from the Day 3 fashion shows, and we’ve picked our favorite looks to share with you.

The Modern Trousseau runway show featured 20 new looks from the 2013 and 2014 collections showcasing intricate laces in ivory, white, and blush, as well as glamorous evening wear perfect for the red carpet at this year’s Swan Ball or upcoming special events. Models emerged from the grand staircase of Belmont Mansion in front of large stain glass window to an audience of approximately 125-150 onlookers at the salon-style event.

Designer Callie Tein worked closely with Nashville’s flagship manager, Mary Claire Weaver, to select and style each gown. Salon NFuse then created romantic up-dos crowned with floral wreaths or loose blossoms by Brocade Design Arts. Private Edition did all the makeup for our models, with a young, fresh palette of pink and peach, which stylists agree is a trend for brides this year.

We had an amazing time working with the many vendors who helped put this event together. And we can’t stop playing the video coverage, as we were too busy during the show to see the final product on the runway!

MT: How did you two meet?
JB: I was going to school at UNCC in Concord, NC, and David was getting ready to start his first year in the Cup series with Roush Racing. My cousin was his PR rep, so he stopped by her house one day to drop something off while I was there. We started chatting, and decided to get together the next day to watch a football game with friends. That was almost six and a half years ago.

MT: Why did you choose Modern Trousseau?
JB: Besides the fact that the gowns are absolutely beautiful, I really loved that they were all made in the USA.  Also, I appreciated their custom design service. They made my gown exactly the way I wanted it, with all the little changes and details I requested. On my wedding day, I wore a one-of-a-kind gown that was personalized just for me — and I’ve never felt more beautiful!

MT: How did David propose?
JB: It was my birthday (which was pretty sneaky on his part, because I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary). He booked the penthouse suite at the Ritz Downtown Charlotte for the night, and had a really nice meal brought up so we could have our own private dinner together in the room.
I ordered seared tuna, that was served in a bowl over ice. When I wasn’t looking, he slid the ring in the ice, and I have no idea how he knew I would pick up the bowl and look at the plate underneath, but I did! Then I just started laughing, because I got so nervous and excited. I don’t really remember everything he said to me, I just know I answered with a Yes!

MT: What was your first dance song?
JB: ‘I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz

MT: How did you feel in your finished gown?
JB: Once I finally put on my dress — that was made just for me — I fell in love with it all over again! I felt so amazing and beautiful, and VERY excited to get married. I truly felt like a bride!

MT: What were your bridal colors?
JB: Plum, silver, and winter white. My bridesmaids wore full length silk dresses in a grayish purple, and David and his groomsmen work black tuxedos with silver-gray cumber buns and bow ties. My bouquet was made up of white roses, white hydrangeas, and purple and green calla lilies, and my girls’ bouquets were made from the same lilies that were in mine. And since it was December in Charlotte — and a bit chilly — my mom made beautiful white fur wraps for my bridesmaids, and a slightly different wrap for me. I loved the way it all came together!

MT: Did you change into a different dress for the reception?
JB: No way! I was so obsessed with my gown that there was no way I could have found anything I would have rather been wearing! My Modern Trousseau gown was so comfortable and easy to get around in, dance in, and party in, and I love how it looks in all of the final wedding photos.

MT: What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
JB: Oh wow…I don’t think I can choose just one moment! Here are my top 3:  { 1 }Seeing David when I walked down the aisle and the look on his face. I knew right then that my feelings about the way I looked in my dress were confirmed!  { 2 } I really loved the time I was able to spend with David and our closest friends just after the ceremony, before we went down to the reception. The hotel had a nice lounge setup for all of us to get spend a few minutes together right after becoming husband and wife. We all laughed and made toasts and just took a second to enjoy the moment. During that time together David’s brother Adam, his best man, made a very heartfelt toast that made me feel very special to be joining such a wonderful family. { 3 } The dancing. I saw moves from some people that I never knew they had! …And the photo booth! I highly recommend getting one…

Amanda and Daniel’s 2011 destination wedding in Costa Rica is featured in the Winter 2013 issue of Inside Weddings Magazine.

The bride wore Modern Trousseau’s ‘Wallis‘ ball gown in diamond white, with the ‘Jade’ sash for the ceremony, and the ‘Wallis’ Swarovski crystal-embellished sash to define her petite waist for the reception. She chose splashes of beach-inspired colors for her wedding party, and accessorized with bright bouquets of indigenous flowers.

Amanda and Daniel chose the auspicious date of 11.11.11 for their wedding, and happily escaped the cold, late fall weather. They exchanged vows at Los Suenos Resort in Playa Herradura, Costa Rica in front of an intimate gathering of close friends and family. Besides providing a gorgeous spot for their wedding photos, Costa Rica was a fantastic locale for relaxing on the beach with their guests.

Inside Weddings quotes the groom saying, “I was so excited to see my wife for the first time in her wedding dress…and the moment did not disappoint.”

We agree! Amanda seems to float down the sandy aisle in her elegant, tulle gown, and looks amazingly comfortable and composed in this tropical setting.

This pretty much sums up the vibe at the Nashville Wedding Planners Group meeting hosted by Modern Trousseau Nasvhille. Attended by planners, vendors, and our fashion models, the casual event allowed an intimate conversation with our designer, Callie Tein, as well as an up close appraisal of the newest evening wear gowns to grace our Nashville dress shop.

Constant Craving Caterers supplied the amazing treats along with The Bang Candy Company, and COMPLETE Music.Video.Photo provided additional entertainment with a party photo booth that we just couldn’t resist. The photo at left proves what hams for the camera we really are — especially when costumes and props are included!

This was the last group meeting of the year, and we were honored to present our dress collection to Nashville’s super-creative movers and shakers in the world of wedding and event planning.

Take a look at the newest looks that may be custom made for our brides and mother of the brides, cotillion and ball attendees, and rock and country music celebrities who are looking to wow their fans on the red carpet. Although these photos don’t do her justice, we’d also like to mention the fabulous talents of Lisa Koonce from Ardon House, who made our lovely models, Ali and Lindsey, look and feel like rock stars.
